Brummell Granted U.S. Patent for World’s First Motorcycle Safety Blazer
AUSTIN, Texas (Oct. 20, 2025) - The International Accelerator today announced that portfolio company Brummell Moto Couture Inc, founded by Nina Levic and Nino Karas, has been granted a U.S. patent (No. 12,433,353 B2) for its Protective Blazer for Motorcyclists.
The patent recognizes Brummell as the inventor of the world’s first protective motorcycle blazer, a fusion of safety engineering and luxury tailoring designed to protect riders without compromising style.
Innovation Meets Acceleration
Brummell joined the International Accelerator in Austin in late 2024, relocating operations to the United States to scale production, expand distribution and build strategic partnerships.
Within its first year, the company launched both men’s and women’s blazer lines and collaborated with global events such as the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, where its limited-edition Brummell x DGR Blazer sold out to support men’s health causes.
“Brummell’s patent award is a defining moment,” said Parke Benjamin, Chief Operating Officer of the International Accelerator. “It exemplifies what happens when visionary founders pair European design with U.S. innovation. This recognition establishes Brummell as a category-defining leader at the intersection of fashion, safety and technology.”
A New Era of Motorcycle Apparel
Issued Oct. 7, 2025, by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the patent protects Brummell’s innovative motorcycle blazer design, including its integrated protective layering, armor placement and ergonomic construction within a tailored garment.
The invention - credited to Co-Founders, Nino Karas and Nina Levic of Skopje, North Macedonia - represents years of research and development to merge certified rider protection with refined professional wear.
“From the beginning, our goal was to redefine what motorcycle apparel could be,” said Levic. “We wanted to prove that protection and elegance can coexist - that a rider can leave home protected and arrive looking impeccable.”
“Receiving a U.S. patent validates the years of innovation that went into the world’s first motorcycle safety blazer,” Karas added. “It’s a major milestone not only for Brummell but for the entire riding community that values design and safety equally.”
