EdTech startup empowers students, parents, and educators to build digital safety skills through AI-powered gamified learning
The International Accelerator announced that MASK NextGen, an education technology startup founded by Avni Trivedi, has joined its portfolio of global companies. MASK NextGen empowers students, parents, and educators to “own their digital safety” through AI-based gamified learning that makes complex online threats simple, engaging, and memorable.
With online risks to children and teens on the rise, MASK NextGen addresses one of the most urgent challenges of the digital era. In 2023, the FBI reported more than 7,000 cases of child sextortion, with victims as young as 10. Tragically, at least 20 children died by suicide after being exploited online. Meanwhile, 1 in 4 teens report seeing or experiencing unwanted sexual content, and most never tell a parent or trusted adult.
“Digital safety education is becoming as essential as reading and math, and MASK NextGen is on the frontlines of making that happen,” said Parke Benjamin, COO of the International Accelerator. “Avni Trivedi and her team bring vision, urgency, and innovation to a market that desperately needs it. We are honored to support MASK NextGen as they scale their impact and help schools, families, and communities build resilience in the digital age.”
MASK NextGen offers students interactive adventures guided by Myra, a digital safety sidekick, and rewards them with badges and recognition for mastering real-world cyber skills. Its platform empowers educators with plug-and-play classroom tools, data dashboards, and professional development courses, helping schools integrate digital literacy into their curriculum without requiring specialized expertise.
“We chose the International Accelerator because of its track record in helping global founders scale their solutions where they matter most,” said Avni Trivedi, CEO and Founder of MASK NextGen. “Cybersecurity isn’t just a technology issue - it’s a human one. By working with IA, we can ensure our platform reaches students, parents, and educators worldwide, giving the next generation confidence and agency in their digital lives.”
MASK NextGen operates on a hybrid B2B + B2C model, offering affordable subscriptions for schools and districts as well as direct-to-parent tools for families and homeschool networks. The company is preparing to launch nationwide pilots in spring 2026, with an educator portal opening in May 2025.
